Sarah Ogilvie and Helen Desai now provide lively, no-stress workshops for children based on themes and illustrations from 101 and Pearl Proves A Point.

Look out for more of these in 2026 as the third book in the series, Taking The Plunge is published!

If you have a community space or bookshop in the North Kent or South East London area and would like us to visit you, we’d love to hear from you.

Learning to draw a book character with Helen and Sarah

Helen and I ran a free school holiday session for children in Margate - reading newly published, ‘Pearl Proves A Point’ then guided by Helen, creating a host of awesome characters using a range of different face shapes and features. Thanks to The High Tide Family Cafe for hosting us and for inviting us back!

Patterns and Puzzles Workshop with Sarah

Patterns and Puzzles, was held in The Little Green Bookshop, Herne Bay this October.

The session combined creative maths, rhyme, and play — encouraging children to spot patterns in numbers and shapes with a range of interactive puzzles.

This small, interactive workshop invites curiosity and confidence in learning, with a good dose of laughter along the way.

Local Book Market – Patterns, Puzzles and Book Buying

I am a regular at the local creative and makers’ market in Westgate Hall, Canterbury where visitors young and old can get stuck in to a range of maths puzzles, have a chat about maths (yes, that happens every time!) and, of course, buy a book!

Coming up…

Thursday 11th December, Late-Night Market, Charlotte Court, Ramsgate

Saturday 29th November: Westgate Hall Market, Canterbury
