Events
Bookshops, bookfairs, and community spaces. I love to share my rhyming stories with children and families. These events encourage curiosity and promote the joy of learning through rhyme, all with a big dose of humour!
“Below are some highlights from recent readings and community sessions.
Summer Session with Helen Desai
This summer, I teamed up with illustrator, Helen Desai, for a lively children’s reading and drawing session. Together we brought Pearl Proves a Point to life — mixing rhyme, art, and laughter in a creative workshop for families.
The event offered children a rare glimpse into how a story takes shape — from first words to final illustrations — and celebrated the teamwork behind the So Nimble books.
Herne Bay – Patterns and Puzzles Workshop
Patterns and Puzzles, was held in The Little Green Bookshop, Herne Bay this October.
The session combined creative maths, rhyme, and play — encouraging children to spot patterns in numbers and shapes with a range of interactive puzzles.
This small, interactive workshop invites curiosity and confidence in learning, with a good dose of laughter along the way.
Local Book Market – Patterns, Puzzles and Book Buying
I am a regular at the local creative and makers’ market in Westgate Hall, Canterbury where visitors young and old can get stuck in to a range of maths puzzles, have a chat about maths (yes, that happens every time!) and, of course, buy a book!
Coming up…
If you’d like to invite me to your bookshop, café, or community space — or be the first to know about upcoming appearances — please get in touch.
I’m always happy to chat about new opportunities to share stories and rhyme with readers of all ages.
