CPD and workshops for schools

Hello

Listed below are the services I currently provide to schools.

CPD SESSION FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL STAFF - CREATIVITY AND FLEXIBILITY WITH NUMBER

60-75 MINUTES

The CPD for session for school staff is linked to the maths in my illustrated rhyming book, ‘101’. Although ‘101’ itself is aimed primarily at KS2 pupils, the CPD session covers relevant activities for EYFS and KS1 (see below for testimonials).

MATHS WORKSHOP FOR UPPER KS2 - CREATIVITY AND FLEXIBILITY WITH NUMBER

60 OR 120 MINUTES

The maths workshop for UKS2 is also based on ‘101’ and can be run over one hour, with the class teacher leading the follow up session, or two hours, where I lead the follow-up. This workshop is based on a tried and tested lesson that I developed as a Year 6 teacher - children love the story of a pupil their age solving a huge problem, and enthralled when they discover that they, too, can solve equally challenging problems!

RHYMING WORKSHOP FOR UPPER KS2 - PEARL PROVES A POINT REWRITTEN!

60 minutes

The rhyming workshop for Upper KS2 uses my second book , ‘Pearl Proves A Point’ as a catalyst for pupils’ writing. All the sessions are lively, interactive and collaborative (see below for testimonials).

If you have any questions or would like more information, do contact me via the link in the top right of this page. I will respond within 24 hours and would love to hear from you!

Rhyming Workshop for UKS2

Garlinge Primary School, Margate

World Book Day 2025

The workshop was fast-paced and well-pitched to keep the children focused, yet allow them to be creative and write their own poem.

Thank you Sarah for helping us celebrate World Book Day! When will you come back?!

‘Activities are adaptable for all phases and ages. Very useful and engaging.’

World Book Day 2025

I was invited to be spend this special day with the Year 5s and 6s of Garlinge Primary School in Margate.

We had an assembly with a read through of ‘101’ and talked about the process of writing and publishing a book. I spent the rest of the day leading workshops on rhyming with the four Year 6 classes using some of the rhymes from my new book ‘Pearl Proves A Point’ so those children were amongst the very first people to see it!

The children worked incredibly hard to produce a group poem in each class in under 45 minutes - top work Year 6s!
