RAWDOG

Rawdogging - I’m rawdogging,

It’s a pared back lifestyle for me,

Rawdogging - I’m rawdogging,

I live life luxury-free.

I drink black coffee - yes black coffee,

I’m rawdogging caffeine,

Make my own sandwich - a plain cheese sandwich,

I’m rawdogging cuisine.

Pen and paper - I write my own letters,

I’m rawdogging the mail,

No French polish - I got my own scissors,

I’m rawdogging the nails.

TikTok on lock , sack off Whatsapp,

Face to face talking, rawdog chat chat,

Lipstick – ditched it - smile in place,

The make-up’s gone, rawdog that face!

Took a long-haul flight without a screen,

Rawdogged the travel - pared back and lean,

Read a book, (a real one), made from paper,

Finished three chapters, eight hours later.

So much these days is ornamental,

Let’s strip life down to its bare essentials,

What of luxury?  Just don’t chase it,

A rawdog life is back to basics.

A rawdog life’s unaccompanied

By ostentation and fripperies,

I meditate away the internal chatter,

My rawdog mind on higher matters,

A rawdog’s life is simple and humble,

Try it if you like, but you’ll probably crumble.

I got a plain sponge cake and not one candle,

On my rawdog birthday, and that I cannot handle,

I thought I could do it but rawdogging is tough,

I’ve been going for a month and I’ve now had enough.

Give me business flights with multiple screens!

A flawless face with a dewy sheen,

Gimme full fat milk and a dirty burger,

Another black coffee and I’ll scream blue murder,

Chop-chop, laptop, back on the keys,

Dump the stationery, email please,

My comfort blanket of social media,

Tik Tok Whatsapp, please I need ya,

Snapchat, Insta, my vlog your blog,

I’m bored,

I’m sure,

No more rawdog.
