Playdate and mayo, snogging and gaming,

Nibbles and discharge, moist, masticating,

Syllabub, date night; it sounds so absurd,

But these are a few of my least favourite words.

Unprecedented, worship and uni,

Lavatory, linctus, boozing and journey,

Wow factor, small humans; I sound such a nerd,

But these are yet more of my least favourite words.

This season’s must-have, mellifluous, basically,

Picky bits, preggers, hubby and literally,

Dongle and panties; these all occur

When I make a list of my least favourite words.

When I read them,

When I hear them,

Cue: unwelcome twinge.

I simply abhor them, will never adore them,

Say them and I ...

Will cringe.
